Dozens of cases to be filed following Joshua Brown allegations Arnold Thomas & Becker is gearing up to file potentially dozens of individual cases against childcare centres who employed alleged pedophile Joshua Brown, with some to be lodged as early as this week. Over 250 families have contacted Arnold Thomas & Becker, with the possibility for legal action to be taken on behalf of over 500 individuals. Principal lawyer Jodie Harris, who is leading the investigation at the firm, said it was considering all compensation options for families. “(We) are in the process of commencing legal proceedings on behalf of some of the families who have been directly affected by the criminal allegations made against Mr Brown,” she said. “We expect to be issuing court proceedings in the Supreme Court on behalf of some affected parents in the coming week.” Ms Harris said a class action hasn’t been ruled out for impacted families, as other legal avenues continue to be explored. “At this stage there are a number of investigations required before we can determine whether an action can proceed and against which defendants. These investigations are ongoing,” she said. “Ultimately Arnold Thomas & Becker are committed to pursuing claims for families that delivers the most amount of compensation directly to them and in a way that is aligned to their individual circumstances”.
