Medical and Like Expenses

You are entitled to payment for the reasonable costs of medical and like services for your injuries. Reasonable medical expenses may include:

  • Expenses of general practitioners, specialists and hospitals;
  • Surgery;
  • Medication;
  • Rehabilitation, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy;
  • Dental services;
  • Travel expenses;
  • Equipment required to assist with your ability to live with your injuries;
  • Home modifications;
  • Services such as home help, gardening services and other assistance;

If the expense is reasonable and the need for that expense relates to the injuries suffered in the transport accident, then, generally, you will be entitled to that expense.

If the TAC has refused to pay or terminates your entitlements to any of these expenses, we will not charge you any costs out of your pocket for challenging the TAC’s decision, even if we bring legal proceedings on your behalf.
