Lump Sum Impairment Benefits

If you have suffered a permanent physical or psychological injury as a result of your transport accident injuries, you may be entitled to a lump sum payment from the TAC.

Your Whole Person Impairment must be assessed by independent medical examiners. If your impairment is 11% or more you may be entitled to an Impairment Benefit. The maximum amount payable as of July 2019 was $359,680. In our experience, most people who suffer permanent injuries in car accidents, are entitled to an Impairment Benefit. If you have a permanent impairment which is the result of a work-related injury or illness you may be eligible for a once-off lump sum payment of up to $623,950.

It is also our experience that the TAC regularly under-assess Impairment Benefit claims. If the TAC has assessed your level of impairment, please call us for a free opinion to see if we can increase your Impairment Benefit.
