Our Values

What we stand for

Arnold Thomas & Becker is a specialist plaintiff personal injury law firm. We represent people from all backgrounds in their quest to obtain justice and secure the most favourable sum of compensation in the circumstances of their case.

We have now been in existence for over 50 years. We do not act for defendants, insurers or corporations under any circumstances. We are the fifth largest plaintiff personal injury law firm in Victoria. Our growth over the last 15 years has been very substantial. We intend to fund and accommodate further expansion without incurring substantial debt where possible.

We strive for excellence in the way we prosecute our client’s compensation claims. We are not concerned about the size, reputation or resources of our opponents. We often accept and win cases which other law firms have declined. Many of our clients have been advised, erroneously, that their claims are not likely to succeed, often by larger law firms. In fact much of our growth over the years has been created by such cases.

We never resolve cases in order to prioritise our pecuniary or any other interest we may have. We do not have a conflict between the interests of our clients and other parties, such as litigation funders or shareholders. We fund the vast majority of our client’s claims and do not charge interest on the disbursements we incur. This scenario is unique. We treat our clients with respect. Our lawyers are approachable and ‘down to earth’. Our lawyers also have genuine concern and empathy for the plight of our client’s journey through the compensation system.

We also thrive to create and foster a collaborative, informal and inclusive work environment for all our staff where possible. All of our partners have a significant file load ensuring a relevant understanding of current litigation procedures and pressure. All of our partners are approachable.

Our work environment is free of prejudice or discrimination whether sexual, racial or disability based.

If you don’t win, there’s no fee.

We operate on a ‘no win, no fee’ payment system, which means there are no costs upfront and you only have to pay us if you win.
