Joseph Braverman

Joseph joined Arnold Thomas & Becker as a Principal Lawyer in 2026 to lead our Class Actions practice.
He has broad experience running class actions across a wide variety of areas, including consumer rights and shareholder claims. He has acted in class actions in the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia.
Joseph has had significant involvement in a number of shareholder class actions that have settled for the benefit of group members. These include the class action against Estia Health Ltd, which settled for $38.4 million, the class action against Sims Limited, which settled for $29.5 million, and the class action against Mesoblast Limited, which settled for $26.5 million — each approved by the Federal Court of Australia.
Joseph has also had significant involvement in a number of other significant class actions. He acted for the Association of Litigation Funders of Australia as intervenor in an appeal in the High Court of Australia in the Blue Sky class action. He also played a central role in the consumer protection class action against Aristocrat Leisure Limited, Product Madness, Inc. and Big Fish, Inc. and the financial products class action against IG Markets Limited and IG Australia Pty Ltd in the Federal Court of Australia, as well as the shareholder class action against Downer EDI Limited in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
In 2023, Joseph was named a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards in the category of Dispute Resolution and Litigation.
Joseph graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws.
