Former Emerald student sues teacher over alleged sexual offences A former student from Emerald Secondary College has launched civil action with Arnold Thomas & Becker against the school’s former drama and music teacher, alleging he engaged in dozens of sexual acts with her while she was in years 11 and 12. She has also sued the Department of Education and Training for allegedly failing to adequately monitor and regulate David Carnie’s conduct while he was employed at the college, which is about an hour east of Melbourne.
